Koon
Key Account Manager, Thailand
I would absolutely say that KONE is a great place to work. Two of the main reasons are the international environment and the opportunities that we get. Working in this international environment means working with colleagues from different backgrounds which I really enjoy. Secondly, when it comes to career paths, what I experience here is that our voices are heard. What that means is that people can be given opportunities in line with their passion, performance or goals. We are not limited to what we have started as. When we are growing with KONE, KONE also is giving us also chances to explore other areas that we might be interested in. KONE adapts to the employee as well and not just limits a person to a particular field.

KONE has taught me this responsibility that every unit I am working on, I make sure that I am confident that your family would be safe using the unit when I am not around. I put all my effort into it. Not just for you or the company or compliance but for everyone. The first training when I joined was from Safety and that mindset that KONE focuses on safety first and foremost is also transmitted by my colleagues and supervisors who have been here a long time. It is about receiving trust and taking ownership.

Project Manager, Indonesia
I have been working at KONE for 4 years and I am very grateful for the opportunity to try out several positions. I started as a technical sales support and now I am the first female Project Manager in Indonesia. Making that switch was only possible for me because I have very supportive colleagues and a strong network that can be built in KONE. If a person cannot help, they will still help me to find the right person to ask. KONE is a great place to work because its filled with great people. I feel like working with my own family.

Field Trainer, Asia Pacific
Since I have joined KONE in 1983, I have took on various roles and grew together with the company to the success story that it is today.
It has always been the teamwork, trust and respect gained from colleagues that have constantly inspired me to stay with KONE until this day. There is a sense of belonging with the team as we share the dedication to overcome challenges together.

Chief Design Engineer, India
I value all the opportunities that KONE has given to me during more than 12 years of working here. It is a safe place to work and healthy relationships between colleagues are fostered. Besides being able to grow my career and my core competencies in R&D designs, the most precious opportunity for me was to come back to KONE after 2 years of taking time off work. During that time I needed to care for my son full time and had no choice but to take a break. I was unsure whether I would be able to restart my career at all but already upon resignation, my HR colleague and manager expressed to me that I am valued and that they would be willing to support me. So after two years there was an opening in the same team that I left and I was able to even take on a higher position. I am so happy that I got this opportunity to be part of KONE again. I trust KONE and KONE values it’s employees.

KONE supports us to get out of our comfort zone. I think the motivation plays a big role. There is not a huge gap between the director of installation and the project engineers position because hierarchies are quite flat.
Sometimes the director calls us one by one and asks us what issues we are facing, how we are handling the situation or how we are doing. Through this individual approach, we are getting motivated to exceed our limits and make our work as great as it can be.
Karol
Safety Manager, New Zealand
We realized towards the end of last year that that the diversity of our team here in NZ has changed dramatically because we were on sourcing new colleagues from outside NZ. And we looked at it and thought “Wow, we have this huge diversity of different countries that work within New Zealand and KONE.” We are proud of that and looking for a way to display and celebrate that so we pulled up all different flags from all countries that we have represented here and hung them together on a wall in the office. Right now we have over 20 flags! That is definitely what makes us special - we have this huge diversity. We are not just one cultural make up but many cultural make ups that come together, blend together and work together. So it does not matter where you come from, there is a place for you in KONE.

I enjoy working as an in-house counsel where you work as a business partner with many different stakeholders and get to learn about our products and services how they provide value to our customers. In comparison to working as a law firm lawyer, at KONE you do not narrow down your expertise to some niche area but get involved in diverse matters from contract negotiation to settling disputes. You can see KONE’s achievements on a day to day basis. So the services and products on the one hand are great and on the other hand I also appreciate the environment and people I work with. The people are highly engaged and taken into consideration through an active dialogue which shows that the company cares a lot about us.

Head of Safety & Quality, Malaysia
Right from the start I felt comfortable at KONE because the communication between all of us is harmonious and honest. Everyone is really encouraged to speak up and discuss in a calm and respectful way so that we find solutions for all of us to win together.
Our caring top management motivates employees to strive for success and reinforces safety to ensure everyone gets home safely every day for our family.
I am proud to be in this big KONE family that is full of positive energy, care and happiness.
